The Federation of Icelandic Artists (BÍL) is an organisation of professional artists’ associations, established on 6 September 1928.

The purpose of the federation is to work towards the promotion of the arts and safeguard the interests of artists on a broad basis. Today, 16 professional artists’ associations across all art forms are members of the federation.

The board of BÍL is composed of the chairs of the professional artists’ associations.
